Academic Director Intensive American English Institute (IAEI)
Blair Bourassa is the multi-lingual distinguished Academic Director of the Intensive American English AlInstitute in Austin, Texas USA.. He has a degree in Linguistics and a diploma in English language teaching from Cambridge University. His wide ranging experience in the field of ESL includes instruction online and onsite, teacher training, curriculum development, and ESL program supervision. Mr. Bourassa has worked extensively throughout the world, teaching and often supervising programs in Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Mexico, Japan, China, Canada, and the United States.
Mr. Bourassa believes deeply in the transformative power of language and education in the lives of his students. He has focused his expertise in the development of coursework and programs for academic purposes. He is the author of IAEI’s English for Health Sciences, an English for Specific Purposes preparatory course for the healthcare field. As a program director, Mr. Bourassa dedicates himself to creating a learning environment for the students and faculty of IAEI. He developed IAEI’s program structure, policies, core curricula and he inspired the supportive and fun atmosphere within the school. This winning combination of academic standards and a positive learning environment continues to garner IAEI its stellar reputation in the ESL communities of Austin, Texas, and the world.
Mr. Bourassa is an avid traveler and twice has been to India. His first venture was to Tamil Nadu where he helped build homes with Habitat for Humanity. He speaks Spanish, Mandarin, French, Japanese and German.
