Director of Academic Planning and Performance and Acting Academic Dean, Abu Dhabi School of Management, United Arab Emirates
Daniel Kratochvil is a senior higher education administrator with experience in university strategic planning, academic program development, international initiatives, and both local and international accreditation. He is currently serving as Director of Academic Planning and Performance and Acting Academic Dean at the Abu Dhabi School of Management, where he holds the rank of Associate Professor of Public Administration and Policy. The School has partnered with the Imperial College of London Business School to offer an MBA degree focused on entrepreneurship and innovation. The School has recently expanded its program offerings with the launch of a Master of Science in Quality and Business Excellence degree in 2016 and a Master of Science in Leadership and Organizational Development degree in 2022.
Dr. Kratochvil holds a PhD, MPhil and MA from Columbia University in the City of New York and a BA from the University of Texas-Austin. He has lived in the Arabian Gulf Region since 2003 and has worked at both international branch campuses and independent institutions during that time. Prior to moving to the Gulf region, his career in New York City included work for the Council on International Educational Exchange, the Mellon Foundation, and the Freedom Forum at Columbia University. His research topics include transnational higher education, international branch campuses, the government regulation of higher education, and the development of regional higher education markets.
